Historic Military Letter from January 1780 Signed by George Washington will be Auctioned August 23rd by Briggs Auction

The letter was addressed to Col. Stephen Moylan on January 5th, 1780, after Washington and his troops marched into Morristown, New Jersey in December 1779 for winter encampment.

Eager bidders blew past high estimates for many of the lots. The catalog featured contemporary art glass, contemporary artwork, sculpture and fine objects. The Escher litho was the top lot.
